Features
Dashboard
After a user logs into the site, they will see their dashboard which will display any courses and resulting modules that their account has access to.
Course Catalogue
An individual user can select their own group and therefore course if it is in the course catalogue. All course in the course catalogue are public to all users.
Linked Accounts
For a user that does not register with an email their account needs to be linked to a verified account.
To do this you must have a verified account yourself then you can create a linked account by adding in a username and password. Once you have done this that linked account is effectively linked to your verified account, therefore, password resets will be sent to the account that linked account is associated to.
A linked account is defined by the presence of a ‘parentkey’ in the user account.
Profile Fields
The required profile field system allows for customers to choose what profile fields they would like their users to complete, when they sign up and create an account in Bracken. The site administrators have access to this and are able to add or delete a specific profile field from their registration page and set up if a profile field is required or not.
A site administrator is able to remove a profile field and then re-add it later on, and those clients who already put their information in before the field was removed will retain their information. Furthermore, if a site administrator added another profile field, those users that have already signed up will receive a pop-up screen prompting them to fill out the new profile field.
Marking
Marking is similar to a state machine where within the different stages of marking, markers and users have different rights.
Owner
This is the user that submitted the module for marking.
Marker
Is able to mark the submitted material and mark it as ‘Complete’ if the material passes or ‘Retry’ if it failed.
If it is ‘Retry’ then the owner is able to view and edit their answers.
Assessor
Potential users that have marking authorisation. There can be multiple assessors within a group and they can choose submissions to mark within that group. Once an Assessor has picked up a submission to mark they then become a marker of that submission.
